Innocence
I remember the time when I was young. I can see it even in the little children around me. They are innocent and free-spirited. They have a great belief that everything will happen as they want it to. I represent this with the blossoming flower. The dove shows the peace of mind that a child has. The blindfold shows that they are blinded to the existing state of things in the world.

Nurturing
The painting talks about mentoring and nurturing. The creation of this painting flows out of my relationship with my sister when I was young and growing up. The figure on the right which represents my sister has a fully grown sunflower facing towards the seedling on the left figure which represents me. The emotion in these two figures show strong connection and how I look up to my sister for inspiration, direction and growth. The unclothed figure represents the innocence and vulnerability of childhood while the yellow color of the dress represents hope. (2024)

Voiceless Color
This painting came from my experience growing up in Zimbabwe but It also represents the universal struggle of people everywhere for freedom and expression. I had to have a young boy as a model who1 felt is a good representation of my journey growing up. As I was doing this with him, my hope was that he would build to breakthrough the bandage that would hold him back (as a person of color). The long dry stems show that you have been growing but have nothing to show for it. The bold yellow flowers represent the hope that lives on that life will get better.

Resilience: this paintina shows how a mother is able to bounce back from setbacks and face adversity. She is nicely dressed but seems to be strained and distracted..Looking deep into the expression she knows how to handle the distraction and knows it will be over in due time (represented by the yellow color on the watch) The pink flowers represent the love and joy she has towards her family and those around her.

Resetting of Joy
This painting shows a peaceful moment when Joy comes in the morning. It highlights the days when I felt oppressed and limited but waking up the next morning with a new outlook and newfound hope without necessarily being conscious where it came from leading to great anticipation for the day at hand and the future to come. The red roses represent victory, joy, pride and beauty, The purple color represents royalty and a sense of fulfilment and peace.

Gathering of Life
This painting represents a person reflecting on their live experience. Along the way they have done something's they are not prouc of and sometimes what they thought will be the gateway in life does not turn out that way.I represent this with the drying and wilting flowers . The blooming flowers represent fruitfulness and when things are going well. On that one thing which seems to be promising, vou have so many people who are also dependent on vou. This is represented by the lady bugs. The butterfly represents the magnitude of hope one has in various situations of life.
